TV and Video Obessions. . .With Some Waffles Thrown In

I obsess of various things in my every day life and I love to share them with people. If you ever need to procrastinate, I can probably help you out. Below are many of my current obsessions.

Cravings TruckAfter what will soon be a year after discovering this gem, I still love the Cravings Truck with all of its waffley goodness! There constant, signature waffle is the red velvet waffle with a cream cheese and pecan glaze, but they are constantly coming up with waffles in new flavors and I love it!

Smash

I am VERY excited about this show premiering in a couple of weeks! For any theatre or music lover, this will be an amazing show! At its basic, the show is about “a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe.” However it really is about the different perspectives of these people producing and auditioning for the show, while also dealing with their own personal issue. The trailer above with its star-studded cast will convince you how amazing this show will be.

Are You There, Chelsea?

A couple of years ago I read all of Chelsea Handler’s book, including Are You There Vodka, It’s Me Chelsea. Last week was the series premiere of the show, Are You There, Chelsea?, based on the book and I am interested in seeing where it goes. There has been a lot working against the show, but I am excited to see Laura Prepon back on tv in a noticeable role as Chelsea Handler. Chelsea Handler plays her sister, Sloane, and produces the show, so this is a show to watch out for.

Pan Am

Pan Am is a period piece on the 1960’s of the pilots and stewardess on this iconic airline. The trailer does not do it justice for the situations and storylines that unfold on this show. The stewardess and pilots deal with historical situations along with their own drama with a spy, a stewardess trying to find herself, a French hopeless romantic, a pretty boy pilot, an unsuccessful player, and just outspoken in women in this truly amazing and interesting show.

Talk That Talk

Ever since hearing We Found Love, I fell in love with Rihanna’s latest album, Talk That Talk. Fans notice this album is more sexual than her other albums, but the songs are still pretty great, including my favorite Drunk on Love (check out my last post to listen to it). Some make you want to sing with her, some make you want to dance the night away with her and others make you just want to get down and dirty.

The Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl

The Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl hilariously follows the character Jay “and friends as she navigates through life, love and awkward  situations.” They purposefully use some racially unacceptable words during inner monologue to build discussion throw the show, but viewers connect truly through the awkward situations Jay deals with like what to do when you ignore someone calls and they see you or passing the same person repeatedly in the hallway. Many of the actors and producers for this web series are Stanford graduates and are really passionate about this series. The show has kept me laughing, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for next season after the season finale last week.

Things People Say
I think everyone in college, if not more, has become obsessed with the YouTube phenomenon of videos “S#*t Girls Say”. People have made their own videos related to their own personal ordeals and my favorites are White Girls to Black Girls, Girls to Gay Guys, and Stuff PR people say (except only really PR people get it). Most of these are things I really do here!
