One day I want to marry a man that makes me want to be a better man. On our wedding day I want to look him in the eye and feel like I won’t find anyone better, because of the bond we have. At times I may feel insecure that he chose to be with me for the rest of his life, but I will be instantly internally comforted by remembering the way he looks at me. It is love I see in his eyes and his in mine.
A wedding might in my future, and it might not. Luckily I have a few years before a wedding seems like a real prospect, but some don’t have that time. If you haven’t seen the video below, you honestly must. 10 minutes and 39 seconds may seem like too long, but you won’t regret it. With the beginning music I was skeptical as to what I was about to see, but by the end I was emotionally moved and in tears. We all deserve a chance to marry that special someone we feel we want to spend the rest of our lives with. We all deserve equality of rights.
Share this with friends. But beyond that, have open and respectful conversations with others. Remember that a conversation and dialogue is not arguing your views against someone else’s. It’s explaining your thoughts and feelings to others, listening as someone describes theirs and considering what they said. As Hillary Clinton perfectly said, “Progress starts with honest discussion.”
