Last weekend in preparation for travels, I took a break from working on a class project to grab dinner with friends and buy needed items before packing my bag that night. Tallahassee each month hosts “First Friday” in Railroad Square, and there is a vintage store with an array of items. Shopping in vintage stores has never been a thing of mine, but I knew I didn’t want to find a typical pair of sunglasses to wear down the streets of Boston and Atlanta. I wanted something fun, bold and contrasting the business casual look I’d have.
With the help of friends, I chose a neon pair of sunglasses with a fun design that definitely stands out as I walk down the street. Are they vintage? Doubt it. Are they different? Embracing it!
Too often style is seeing as having to fit the status quo, trends, or classic looks. I think we all need to embrace our inner desires and styles while still being practical to what we need. Personally, I’m loving wearing this bold color and design. It pops against the darker colors I’m wearing in this cold weather.
When they can’t see the bow tie, there should be another bold touch (and if you lose a cheap fun pair of sunglasses, another is waiting right around the corner).
